I know it's bad to leave your bow in extremely hot temperatures but I goofed. I shot my bow at a buddies house and put it in my case in the back of my truck and forgot about it... For a week. I'd forget my head if it wasn't screwed on so for the people who know me this isn't a surprise but how much trouble am I in? Would the limbs start to crack immediately or would it be an over time type of thing?

It might not be that big of a deal. Have you looked at it or messed with it since? I'd use it like normal...the worst that could happen is the limbs blow up and send a million shards of splintered material into your face.

Oh haha well when you put it like that no big deal. I actually took it to my local bow shop today to have a new string put on it I was just curious if over time it'll be a problem or I'd be able to tell whether or not I really messed up immediately. What I don't want to do is pay to put a new strong on it and then the next week have to put new limbs on as well

I do not believe that today's bows are as problematic as they used to be when left in the heat...... I still wouldn't advise doing it though!

The only bow I had seen with problems from being left in a hot car, had warped limbs on the same day that it happened. If you were going to have problems, I'm pretty sure you'd of noticed them right away.

If you've been shooting it and had a new string put on with no problems, you're probably OK.

    DON'T DO IT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    You got lucky this time.
Even with new and better materials, extreme heat is not your friend.
