....for those that care! Thanks for the phone call from fellow members who were checking up on me and rubbing in the fact that I still haven't got out to hunt. Harvest was absolutely brutal, seemed to drag on for....well MONTHS. And while I thought I was going to get to atleast get out with the shotgun this weekend, I forgot to reapply for my landowner/tenant permits. They come due every 5 years and I never recieved a notification or it got mixed up somewhere. On a positive note, my dad slammed a good size year and half old doe tonight. Kept his streak alive of getting atleast one deer since about 1977 or something. He kicked up a monster of a 12 pointer this weekend heading to a stand. It was probably the same one I saw when I was checking over the stands before season opened. Anyways, he was big and I hope he didn't go far. He hasn't seen that buck since though. Maybe tomorrow he will get a crack at him. So I am left with hopefully some decent days I can salvage this season and possibly get my first bowkill. I'll take anything at this point. While helping my dad get that doe out of the woods was therapy enough in itself, I need to get out with a bow that is unnecessarily collecting dust in my basement. I keep my shot sharp shooting foam deer, but it just isn't the same. Hopefully everyone else have had some productive seasons and I'll be catching up with you guys more now that mother nature as put an end to our farming habit this season.
Damn right I care!!! I know how farming can go, trust me! Farming and hunting don't always mix very well being both go on at the same time. When you get some time get your but out there a zip something. I'm pulling for ya bud!!
Damn, sorry to hear Balls...Guess I shouldn't have been griping about my time in the woods when you haven't even gotten out yet....That is alot of harvesting. Best of luck come late season...you can get it done still. Just hunt over your most recently picked field and tip over a doe.
Nice to see you are living Bols, it would suck if you had died. I tried giving you a ring the other day, to no avail. Tell your dad it's your turn to hunt!
