Making my way in this morning, I get very near my chosen spot when I spot a guy from the hunt club who leased the property next to where I hunt. I back out, no sense in ruining both of our hunts. The more I think about it the more positive I am he hung a stand across the line, at least anywhere from 30-75 yards across the line. I made a huge mistake of not hanging a stand where I wanted to hunt in this area before the season. Had my climber in there only yesterday. Only way I can be absolutely positive is to walk in from the other side along the fencerow.

Its going to be worth it in the morning, even if I ruin his hunt. This guy or another one had a note left on their truck a few weeks back by the landowner letting him know he was on the wrong land. Undoubtedly he or they were scouting and hanging stands. Nothing pisses me off more than to get up early for a hunt only to see someone who is not supposed there.

    Good luck, Greg.

Had something similar happen this morning to me... alarm goes off at 4 a.m. and I'm on the road by 4:30... pull into my hunting spot at 5:30, and a truck-full of guys pull in from Arkansas that I've seen before. In fact, they're the ones I helped pull out a doe a few weeks ago.

We talk for a second, and they're only dropping one guy off. I find out where he's going, and from what he describes I know where he's going. OK, I'm going a different direction... hike the 20 minutes back to where I want to hang only to be greeted by standing water that I don't feel comfortable crossing in the dark -- have no idea how deep it is or where it ends.

I head back to spot # 2 I was thinking about, which should take me around where the guy said he was headed. Five minutes later I'm within 25 yards of where I want to hang up and I look up only to see the guy shining a flashlight down on me! :(

Ended up walking down the slough 250 yards and did not have a good morning...

That sucks. Greg, I ended up going to another spot that has been very unproductive so far, went there because I already have a stand hung. Needless to say it is still unproductive.
