Had intentions to get out this morning, opening day of bow season. Had the 6 yo granddaughter yesterday. Started off with picking 6 - 5 gal pails of apples. Had a 4" limb that broke from the weight. Then she wanted to get some of the pumpkins for the patch down at the garden. She drove her Bolens 1960 RAM tractor and pulled the cart. I cut & she carried. Got about 2 dozen - decoration type about 6-8" size. Got them back to the house. Time to get the cider press going.. Had it ready. Ground and squeezed the 6 pails and got a bot 5+ gal of juice. Friends showed up and they got about 4 bushel off the tree. Didn't even make a dent in the crop. Had another cart with the apple solids in. She drove that down to the pasture get for the goats. Got it unloaded and stuff put away. Then she wanted to roast hot dogs over the fire pit. Got the wood hauled up from the wood shed and the fire started. Then washed up the press for next time. 1/2 hour break & was time to roast the dogs. After supper it was somore (sp) time. Finally got finished for the day. Settled back in the recliner and watched the truck race at Las Vegas. Darn I was tired. Light rain this morning so will finish up the cider in the garage this morning. Watch the race this afternoon and look at deer hunting in the morning.
