Here it is, October 7th, and I've only been in the woods once. We went to Big Cedar Lodge last weekend and I've been working late every night this week. Tonight I have to mow before the torrential rain moves in Thursday and Friday. This kinda sucks.:(

Friday evening I took my youngest son out for his first bowhunt. We sat in our buddy stand, only to find out that there wasn't room for 2 of us AND 2 bows....so dads bow got to spend the evening on the ground. We saw a doe that was about 35 yards away, feeding on acorns. My son was REALLY wanting to shoot it, I kept telling him to wait, that was too far of a shot for his bow. He looked at me and said "Can I use your bow?" LOL. :D All in all, a fun night. Really looking forward to hitting the woods this weekend!

Penicillin helps but won't get rid of everything! HA! I know what you mean. I will be in the stand only for the second time this year on Saturday. Weather looks awesome for this weekend!

Chompin at the bit here as well, 2 sits so far...but also no sense in burning out good spots yet.

Going to take my two little boys for quick sit tonight (don't except deer in shooting range at 4 & 5 years of age)...but getting them hooked is the goal. Looks like only Saturday morning hunt for me this weekend - but man the weather looks good for IL in the forecast...Good Luck BBM!
