I have had the the TruGlo with the DDP (decreasing diameter pin) for about three years now. It was the first sight I had on my bow. I like the idea of it, in the sense that the farther the target the smaller your pin would be, as to be able to see more of your target.. makes sense so far right? The problem with the sight was simply that after 3-4 years of using it I am feeling more comortable shooting longer distances, but this sight has a major design flaw, the pins aren't aligned through the center of the pin... they are aligned on the right side of the pin.. which means your shots become more off center the farther out you shoot and if you move the sight then you are off inthe opposite direction when your close. It's a never ending battle!!! ahh!!! So after all these years of frustration the sight was tired of being adjusted and wouldnt hold its accuracy. I had it maxed out and finally gave in! I told my buddies that work in our archery dept and they all looked at me and said "told you to buy a Spott Hogg".. So I did.. Life is good now as I can have a pin clear to 80 yards and can adjust them to ME instead of the sights mood! Not all was bad about it though, I wouldn't say they make bad product just have a design flaw and a life span on this particular one. Also noteworthy was the fact that the pins are all the same color which makes for slower yardage-pin accusition. the light was also so bright that the blur would make it impossible to see the target behind it in low light, and the fiberoptic wrap cover broke within the first week of having it..

You're gonna love the Spot Hogg. I've got a Hogg-It on my bow, and so does my daughter.

Learn to use the wire, as an alignment tool, and it will help you to be more accurate when gap shooting with the pins. (especially handy when shooting 3D)

Mine is a 5 pin, and my top 3 are .019 the bottom 2 are .010. Works good. Also their rheostat light does a good job at providing just the right amount of light.

I have a armortec axcel. Its cashy but awesome and tough. Fiber pins completely wrapped in steel. Cant beat it. Spot hogg would be my second choice though.. theyre tough sights too.

Tyler- I've never heard of the armortec axcel. Who carries them? or I suppose google always does the trick too! haha!
I went out and began to sight it in this weekend.. What an amazing sight, it's bright, no blurr, rediculsly easy to adjust and the guide wire is a HUGE help when shooting in-between yardages.. I got it partially because of its reputaion and partially because I wanted the extra pins for 3D, I can see how this sight is going to help improve my ability to shoot 3D more acuratly already! It truley is a great sight. As someone who tests product for GORE, I demand quality in my investments and I have definatly found it here.. I may still play with it some and put a longer arm on it, but for now I'm tickled pink.
