Wells guys and gals its only 23 more days away. Anybody all ready or still got some things do? How's it looking in your areas? Looking like might be a little warm here for the opener, and there are a few harvesting corn already. Got everything pretty much done to get ready, just gotta keep shooting and check cams one more time before season. Hopefully everybody has a successful season and most importantly be safe.
I still have work to do. I need to finish up my hours at the park down here at school and get my gear washed up. I'm sure there are some other things but this season will be interesting. I have a lot on my plate between school work and finding time to hunt. Hopefully I can get on some deer early Sent from my XT901
Ready to go. Checked two different cams today and there are plenty of deer. No big bucks just yet but I've seen a few around. The smaller bucks have shed their velvet. Hoping we get a cool opener, im excited!
Still shooting my bow, time to get my pack ready, and time to switch from foodplots to "killing deer in plots"!!!
Checkout the badlands tree stand pack great pack and great space that is the pack I'm using this year!
I was actually just looking at the superday pack from Badlands. I need the extra space for my camera gear. I will check out the treestand pack though.
run the camera for a few more weeks, practice shooting, and get gear together. Might be hunting over turning beans and acorns. Looking for a doe or this nice 8 point i've been seeing
Ihave a few more stands to finish hanging and gonna put my cameras back out but almost ready! Sent from my BNTV600 using Tapatalk 4
Ha ha that a little more of a break down then I wanted to figure up. So does anybody take off work to be out opening day or wait until weekend, I've been taking off the past two or three years just to finally get out there in the woods with a bow.
I ordered the Mathews 3:16 pack. Hoping it comes in before the season arrives. I am hoping that it is big enough for my camera and all the other gear that I have and can strap my tree arm to the top of it.
Doing as much shooting as I can to get ready. Took my first shots at 50 yards this weekend, not sure if I'll take my chances on any deer at that range but it felt nice to be able to get out there and hit the target!
I am ready to go. I just washed all my gear and packed it away in my air tight box. Nobody here in East Central IL has started harvest yet but I suspect by the end of next week somebody will at least open up a field or two. First couple weeks are going to be pretty rough for me because the majority of the corn around where I hunt is still faily green and at least 4 weeks away from harvest. My ownly saving grace will be the acorns. Hopefully the deer decide to swith from corn to acorns for at least part of the day. Good luck everybody!
Ferg where did you order it from? Let me know how the spacing is on that pack, I can't decide if I want to go with that or pick up a actually backpack and throw that on the back of my climber or hang on(whatever I decide to use)
I actually ordered it from my local shop. Plan to call him tomorrow to get a status on it. Hoping that it arrives before the season gets here. I checked out Cricks pack at the campground because he has the same one and he was really happy with it and I liked it. I have a Blacks Creek pack that is similar now but a little smaller so I think this will work better for me!
