You said you have a 27.5" draw which would mean your arrow is 28". You also said you wanted to add 70lb limbs. 28" arrow with 70lb limbs and 125 grain broadhead puts you at 300s.

Maybe you said you you have 27" draw. I can't remember. Either way your on the edge and I always prefer to have a stiffer arrow for deer. My suggestion, if you're set on your current setup, go with it but I'd eventually go with with a 100 grain broadhead or a stiffer arrow. Best of luck to you this fall bud.

Right. I decided against that and will stick to what I have. 60lbs 27.5" arrow.

Apparently I'm a glutton for punishment. Hear to beat the dead horse.

I have an option to get some 250 Maxima Reds 28" carbon to nock throat . Is that a better option for the 60lb draw weight with 125 grain Hypos?

That should be plenty. I would stick to a 100gr broadhead and insert 50gr brass instead of shooting the 125gr point. That just my preference. Best of luck!

KE is much to do about nothing when It comes to bowhunting. It has been said many times momentum is what counts . With that said, stickbow hunters have been killing deer for decades with bows producing a KE of around 30.

I am currently using a 60lb, 28.5" draw Chill X. Using Gold Tip 5575 Hunter XT arrows and 100 grain slick tricks. My arrow weight is coming out to around the 390s grain count.

You will definitely be okay with the current set up. Iowa Whitetails and Illinois Whitetails don't differ THAT much. :)

Folks seem to be concerned with KE here and there. KE is a number and has very little to do with movement ( penetration) of an object. It is more fitting with rifle cartridge ballistics.

You'll be fine with what you have. Even the 250 some Red's will be good. I'm shooting a Spyder 30, 60#, 30" dl, running a 29" Easton Flatline with 4 vanes & 100gr wac'em 3 blade. Just bust the shoulder.
