I had a cousin hunt during the youth season and only managed to hear one bird while his dad just shot his first bird last weekend.

We're hunting JoDaviess county which was #1 in the Northern Zone and there's plenty of birds out there. We saw at least 1/2 dozen toms in the first hour yesterday morning. The problem was they all shut up about 1/2 hour after they hit the ground. They all seem to be with hens right now. Is there such a thing as turkey lockdown?

I'll be back at it during 4th season and we'll see how things go.
