So a customer at work was trying to tell me that I could apply for more than one spring turkey tag. For example, I could apply for season 2 and season 3, and if tags are available I could potentially get a tag for both seasons. Does this sound accurate? And if this is the case, are you able to take a turkey in each season or are you done if you kill in your first season?

I didn't really believe him, but thought I'd ask... I'm a newby when it comes to the whole turkey hunting game...

Not sure but thanks for the reminder on the tags. I need to apply early this year in hopes of getting one and maybe tagging my first turkey.

If I remember correctly there are three lotteries in which you can draw tags. You can only draw one tag per lottery. After the lotteries are complete then any remaining tags get issued thru a daily draw. I always get at least two turkey tags each spring becuase I like being out more than just a week. I believe that it is possible to get up to three turkey tags each spring. I generally like hunting the earlier seasons where it's a little easier for me to manuever in the woods and the under brush isn't so green. I applied for a second season tag for the first lottery and will probably apply for a third season tag for the second lottery. If I happen to kill a bird second season, I'll try for another third season. So far one thing is for sure the Turkeys beat me at my own game. Good luck.

I need to re-read the regs, but I think you can still take 3 birds in the spring. I usually get two permits.
