Gonna be tough sledding my friend. But nothing is impossible and if you dont want to be discouraged, stop chasing turkeys now.

It’s been tough with my group of friends that have gone out. Been a couple killed but a lot of nothings

Have a friend who has killed 2, both first days out. One in SE IL and one here in central. Has one more permit for 3rd or 4th season in SE IL.

You can’t kill’em sitting in your house! Turkeys have to eat even if it’s raining. Wind will make them cagey like deer.
I have back to back permits starting on Saturday. Hunting every day I can. Retirement is great!

Snowed down here yesterday. Been overcast, windy and rain today. They should be up and at it in the morning!

Not sure what all the hype is about, turkey tag soup tastes exactly like deer tag soup

Didn't even make it out 1st season. Next weekend I'll have Friday, Saturday and Sunday to go out.

I now know not to put in for 1st season anymore, too many hunters here state how they like 3rd-5th better both for more stable weather and mushrooms being up more widespread.

Can’t sleep. I’m hoping to be within 150 yards of a roosted Tom in the morning. Need to be in the blind in 5 hours lol

That cold week really messed it up I think. I’m betting 3rd season on will be great though.

Had a textbook perfect hunt on Saturday, it was an awesome morning to watch the woods wake up! 07CEDAD0-A19E-4FC7-AFC6-785C8DF958DE.jpeg

So happy to finally call in a mature Tom all by myself. He was over two ravines, couple hundred yards away.
Next project will be getting it done with a bow.
    Safe hunting Y’all.
