Anyone know if it's legal to bowhunt during the youth gun season this weekend? I know it isn't during the other gun seasons but not sure on this one.

I'm wearing orange just like I always do during General gun seasons. I don't gun hunt and State has certain archery only sites that are open during regular firearm season. Just have to wear orange like the gun hunters. Check out IDNR website.

Cook, DuPage, Lake and eastern Kane counties are closed to all firearm hunting so archery runs from October 1 through mid-January without interruption. In counties open to firearm deer hunting, the archery season is closed only during the two regular firearm deer seasons (3 days in November; 4 days in December).

In counties open to firearm deer hunting, archers in the field during Youth, Muzzleloader only (3-day season after 2nd firearm season), Late-winter antlerless, and/or Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) seasons must wear the same amount of orange as gun hunters.
