illinois spring turkey hunting, how does it work? (N. illinois)

    hey guys, im new to bow hunting, and have never been turkey hunting before. i was wondering if anyone could tell me how spring turkey hunting works in northern illinois? 9Mchenry county.) it think i have to get a tag, kinda like shotgun season for deer? thank for your help, Brian.

    you put in for a tag sometime in November. there are 4 or 5 season you put in for one of them first drawing and then they have a second drawing for either a second tag or if you missed the first one. hope this helps. and check idnr's website for more info.

    i know the first and second lottery deadlines have passed for the south zone. there is still a 3rd and the daily drawings that you can apply for when you tag out. the form will give you 10 county choices. with the 10 you willl have to put the season number you want beside it. in your case if you want to hunt in your county you would put McHenry 5 times (only 5 seasons) and put season one threw five down beside it so you are garuntied a tag in your county for one of the 5 seasons. you can aplly online or print the form and send it threw mail. hope this helps good luck!
