Hey guys. I hunt Southern Illinois (Franklin Co), but live in Arkansas and would like to get updates on what rut activity you are seeing. I just left there on Sunday and the bucks had just begun to make scrapes. I haven't witnessed any other rutting activity and even saw some bucks traveling together. What are you seeing? Thanks

Hunted this past weekend, and saw a few scrapes. It is simply too warm for much daytime movement. With the cool down predicted for the end of this week, and the weekend, I think things will start to pick up. Sunday morning was the first sit in a long time that neither my son, nor I, saw a single deer moving.

These daytime temps in the mid 70's, and lows in the 50's are putting the hurt on deer movement!

I'm on the other end of the state and seeing the exact same thing here. Have only seen 1.5 year olds running around. The bigger deer just aren't moving as much during daylight with these warmer temps right now. I did have one (estimating) 3.5 yr old 6 pointer come by on Friday around 9:30 AM, but he was just taking a stroll thru the woods. Never had his nose the ground the entire time I saw him. Almost released an arrow at this guy. His body was enormous!

In my job I drive all day. Yesterday (Monday 11/2) I did not see a single deer the entire day and I got home an hour after dark. Crazy! If I were out hunting this week I would be targeting water with these high November temps.

I hunt white county, and just saw the first scrape of the season last night and can called a small buck to my tree and saw a little six point walking around, so the little ones are starting to move. Shot a doe last night and her legs are starting to smell somewhat of estrus
