Hunt dates are November 1-7 on 16,000 acres of public ground in central Illinois. I'm planning on driving up on October 30th and coming back November 8th (unless I/we tag out early) My buddy that was supposed to go with me is now unable to go so I'm looking for a traveling partner to hunt with. Here's a break down of approximate costs... Nonres either sex tag/license $480 Lodging $30/night/per person $270 Food and fuel we'd split ~$300 each Permit for hunt Free $1000-1200 for a DIY bow hunt in one of the best areas in the country to hunt is a pretty good deal. If you're interested and want more info just shoot me a PM and I'll give you all the info I have. Permits are just about all spoken for so if you're interested I would suggest not dragging your feet. I've posted this on one of my local forums too so whoever says "yes" first gets first dibs. Dave
Sounds like fun but there's no way I'm missing a chance during the rut of one of the bucks I'm looking for on my uncles property
NC, best of luck! I love the motivation and the fact you are going for it. Take some pics and keep us update on your trip as it unfolds.
Good luck. Yes keep us posted. I'm hoping in the next few years to do a out of state hunt. This will be interesting for sure. Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 2
Thanks fellas and yes I will be going to JEPC. My good buddy lives not far from the park so he has plenty of spots to help me out. It's gonna be different for sure but I'm looking forward to trying it out!
Good Luck Rem. Having hunted JEPC a few times I know you're gonna love it. I will be there with my 13 year old nephew this weekend Sun/Mon. His first trip ever bowhunting (and my first post-rotator cuff surgery bowhunt in 5 years) and it looks like a good weekend to be there. I drew Hardin county for my gun tags, but try for JEPC every year. I've taken some nice deer from there. Being a city boy with a country heart and mindset, I treasure every opportunity to get out into the bush. Stop by the 1983 Rockwood pop-up for a cold Miller Lite and a swig of Knob Creek. We will have the fires burning.
