For those of us that put in for them...when will we know if we got it? I'm assuming they'll notify by email since this is all that was given to them at application time? Or will they mail me something?

If you applied you'll be getting one this year. I believe they upped the # and they haven't been selling them all before the season the last couple of seasons.

You'll receive it in the mail in August.

The quota this year was set at 25k I believe.

I've only paid for the permit, not the actual license or habitat stamp yet. When should I pay for the license and stamp?

You can purchase the license and habitat stamp the day before you start hunting. Those can be purchased over-the-counter. However, I don't know why you want to come to Illinois, there are zero deer in this State.:d

You might as well buy it now, you WILL get your tag.

Like stated previously, they weren't selling out in the first place, so upping the number of tags was kind of a headscratcher but whatever makes them sleep better at night.

If you put in, you WILL get your tag, mark it down.

I'm originally from the Land of Lincoln and still have plenty of family in Adams County and will be back for the holidays. Is it too late to put in for a non-resident tag?

There will probably be a late draw in August since they probably won't sell all the NR tags. Check the IL DNR website in August.
