Illinois hunters

I go to Chain-O-Lakes for practice quite a bit during the summer since it is just down the street from me. Not bad just bring your own paper targets. Works best if you put them on cardboard since you are shooting into hay bales.

 

There is a place in Winnfield or Warrenville area. Blackwell forest preserve. They have several different ranges and go out to 90 yards. They just dont have an elevated stand position. Heidecke lake out by Morris has elevated stands. Range out to 40 yards. Des Plaines state park has elevated stands and range out to about 50 yards.

 

how are things looking in Eastern Illinois? i live in Alabama and hear the bucks are just starting to scrap, any confirmation out there?

Anyone local to the Chicago area can help me out.. The wife and I have been looking into different areas for us to hunt. Not sure of the process here as I usually hunt in Michigan.. thanks!
