I have to say Quinnoccio will probably step down to let Madigan in for Governor, this is another endless cycle of liberal anti -gun politics in this state. I am talking with the wife now about leaving, she's for it. Both sides are corrupted with Chicago politics blended heavily with the most liberal media that's why people in this state are losing their LIBERTIES. They are so left minded they don't understand what liberty means. Too much Democracy and entitlements got us in to this mess. And yes I'm in a union, so in a sense I make my self sick because my dues support these J@&-bags. Can any of you guys relate? Hats off to the Outdoor Channel. I believe even if your just a bow hunter/shooter you should support the NRA or some other gun rights group. BECAUSE THEY WOULD HAVE YOUR BACK IN A SECOND.
Thank you I will step off my soap box now

For the most part it was good for us, but a bad bill went on to 3rd reading which has a favorable amendment for us but a lot of bad amendments.

The mag ban never got called on. Not sue if it was due to the momentum on our side, the lack of a crucial dem vote in an absent rep or they just didn't have the votes regardless. Still waiting to hear the answer on that.

While infringements were avoided we by no means thwarted their efforts.

Not sure when the next debate will be. Could be tomorrow or next week. Ever vigilant, be we must.

Yea the little bit I did see or hear sounded like the one that put up the bad amendmemts were getting hammered bc it was either a bad bill or they jus threw it in and had no idea what it really said or meant.

That's been the case for the past 3-5 weeks. It's downright disturbing the circus Madigan is displaying and yet there is no media focus on it and how wasteful it is while the state continues to sink further into its self created tar pit.

Yesterday was a huge stepping stone I think, there was a lot of good to come out of it despite the couple bad amendments. Our lobbyist felt the restraint amendment will not make the final bill and the prior arrests one will be tweaked into a solid amendment.

They're running out of time to start talks on a real bill that will comply with the 7th's ruling while living up to the constitution. Sounds like Lisa may try to a last minute dump off to the Supreme Court shall our side prevail. She's waiting to see what kind of bill is passed and if it infringed on enough rights or not. If it does she'd rather fight it in another lengthy and costly court battle, if not we'll be waiting on a lengthy Supreme Court case.

Lisa is waiting for them to fail to pass a bill. If they pass it there will be no point to fighting a law that was enacted. If one isn't passed then she has grounds for an appeal of the 7th ruling.

Not sure what to expect tomorrow, but after they adjourn tomorrow we'll have a couple quiet weeks. Once they adjourn tomorrow they will be on spring break through April 7th. Hopefully tomorrow is quiet, be nice having a break from reality.

Will you then have to apply for an Illinois nonresident CCW?

I guess it would depend on if Illinois would be reciprocal with Utah. Right now a bunch of states recognize the UT CCW. Knowing Illinois they won't. ;)

Kendall wore his IGOLD sweatshirt on our trip out west. People asked about it. Some guy in Wyoming that it was pretty funny that we didn't have concealed carry and needed to have a Lobby Day to try to protect/promote our rights. A guy in Utah just sadly shook his head.

Time to start the phone calls and emails again. Don't know if it will be called to the floor today or when but am amendment was filed to HB831. It's a may issue with so many hoops to jump through and if you live in Chicago you can forget about it.

The United States Supreme Court chose not to hear the Kalchasky vs Cacase appeal. No reason was given but Lisa Madigan is trying to insist to people that this means they ruled that a may issue bill is constitutional. Which is bogus, they just chose not to hear the case, they didn't rule on anything. Some think it is they want a more rounded case(Woolard) that would solidify any future cases as well. No one really knows because they haven't stated a reasoning.

Make sure our reps and senators know, no "may issue" only "shall issue with preemption". Only bills that are endorsed and approved by the NRA/ISRA.

831 which was a very and overly unconstitutional bill disguised as an amendment was shot down 31-76-6 Yea/Naye/Present

Was a sound defeat, but word now is 997 will be called for tomorrow as a clean shall issue with preemptive standing for an official vote. None of this political shenanigans and constitutional mockery.

This is from Illinois Carry, and is an official statement. If you have failed to do anything to this point, this is the most critical juncture of the fight. This is for all the marbles, unless there is a last ditch effort they can't turn back.

HB997 Carry Bill On The Move - Action Needed!

    Vote Expected Tomorrow April 18th

This is the REAL DEAL - GAME ON!

    Call Your State Representative NOW!

HB997, sponsored by Rep. Brandon Phelps is a very reasonable carry bill and is set for a vote in the House tomorrow, Thursday April 18, 2013. It is a shall-issue, statewide preemption carry bill. We are urging everyone to call their state representative and urge them to vote YES on HB997!!

    Special Alert To Those in
    Chicago/Cook County!

If you live in the northeast quadrant of the state, (or Rockford, or Champaign) it is URGENT that you contact your State Representative NOW and urge him/her to vote YES on HB997. This is going down to the wire and it's the time for EVERYONE to give this everything they've got!

Yea I saw that got shot done pretty soundly. So that was good hopefully it'll carry over into tomorrow and we can finally put this to rest. Seems the chicago politics have lost a lot of momentum with recent things happening federally, anyway I hope, and they realize the lower majority of this state isn't gonna let bs get passed. That's my hopes anyway ha. Now hopefully if everything goes good the senate won't be such a fight.

Unfortunately not. Looks like there was a lot of back stabbing. Herewe come constitutional carry. Only had 64 of the 71 needed votes.

I hate this state, and the city that runs it. I give up, screw them and everyone that votes for them.
