Sent Feb 25, 2013, 5:58 pm SUBJECT: Re: Concerns on gun legislation Thanks for your service to our country. *I will uphold the 2nd amendment that you have defended. *Jil Kinda short and sweet ha. Its from Jil Tracy, shes a cosponser on Phelps bill also. Yea idk what the weather is gonna do hopefully it doesn't effect it too bad or at least not for our side. This was the only response I got from basically what I said were my concerns in not upholding the courts decision and having a fair bill drafted and not to compromise for things that only really effected Chicago.
They are going to make it difficult for sure for use to be able to carry. I went through the 27 amendments some are obvious and others seem a little crazy, like 21 and 24 for example.
Thats pretty much what I thought. Its funny tho you go to ar15.com and they put that you should support 24 because its written by Phelps. To me after reading some of it contradicts 27 which is pretty close to original bill.
They should vote on a new state motto...........Illinois . You cant buy a gun but you can buy a politician.
This is sure going to be an interesting day. Hopefully the boss leaves me alone so I can watch/listen.
I'm taking half a vacation day today so I'll be home by 11:45. Not sure how much will get done today or how long the session will last. I just hope all our supporters show up and the downstate Democrats don't give in to Chicago's demands and flop. Going to be an interesting day, sickening but interesting. Will Madigan hold his word and let our bill go through if theirs get blocked? Will Lisa file a Supreme Court appeal if it goes our way? I don't trust Chicago
If links above are not working here is an HD feed that is near flawless, for now. This is high quality entertainment, anti's are getting grilled so far. But we're only on amendment 2 of 27 http://new.livestream.com/blueroomstream/events/1901922
Sounds like could be a long day. Seen couple "heated" debates on some other sites in supporting amendment s 24 or 27. Which are basically same only 24 is slightly more strict on requirements.
Talking about wanting to bring HB0997 up for vote today or tomorrow. They freed it from committee earlier to be able to do so
Was he the guy that was saying 'this is too important to ignore!' or something like that? I was in the kitchen and missed most all of this but I did hear a guy trying to get people to listen to Suzanna Hupp's story and telling people that Chicago has the 'gun problem' not the rest of us.
Yeah, wow, i was ready to call 911 for him myself. Thought he was going to give himself an aneurism. LOL
Im not getting anything done at work today lol. Have the live stream going, a live blog up and following three forums. Internet multitask at its best. Thank god for dual monitors.
They voted on releasing HB0997 and brought it out of the committee it was stuck in, but they've also put 8 amendments on it but all the amendments are now sitting in committee. 997 is still on the calendar for second reading, not sure if they can bring it up for a vote right away or not. would save a lot of time. I love the way this is going, the anti's are being coached by others on their own amendments. Guess we know why Madigan took the day off on his own bill. and hour and a half and they've heard two amendments and voted on one, the naming of the bill, could be a long session.
Seems like to me they're getting hammered because most of the ammendments they put up were jus thrown together. Looking decent so far
