Do you have to go to a check station to register your deer in IL or can you do it over the phone?

Over the phone or internet. Check stations are pretty much a thing of the past. Not even sure if anybody does them still or not.

550 bucks in 4 days. Pike county has killed more deer in the first 4 days of season than Ford County killed all of last year. Pike must be loaded with deer.

Between CWD the last couple years and all this standing corn it has really made hunting a lot harder then it already is.

Thats odd. In my area, I'm seeing more deer this year than I have since 2005. Most of the crops are still standing where I hunt, too.

I am too. As far as the number go I don't relly pay much attention to them. They always wanna say when they're low the deer numbers are low. Theres more factors that go into it to me, for instance I haven't seen near as many people out this year like have in past. Used to be able to drive around this time of year and see trucks parked off the road everywhere. Not seeing that this year or havent seen as many out of state hunters either. We're still seeing just as many deer though. As far a disease idk haven't heard any nore of that than normal either so who knows.

WE have been hammered with EHD here in Fulton county. We are still finding them dead. The farmers have been finding them daily while they are harvesting the beans. They are just laying dead out in the fields. Doesnt look good around here.

Looks like Peoria county is the hardest hit this year. They are down 104 deer from last year.

Yeah I saw that. I am interested to see what happens in Fulton with all the ehd they had. I am in Iroquois and it looks close to last year.

Yeah between EHD outbreaks last year and this year the IL herd in some areas is hurting pretty bad for mature deer. We also hunt Wayne County and from what some of the land owners I know have been telling me they havn't seen to many mature bucks running around this year. They were hit pretty hard last year. I guess I will find out this weekend when I go down there and hunt for 3 days.

I don't think your going to see them equal last year. I think if we come within 500 of last seasons total we would be lucky.

What are you guys comparing numbers to to say they're down? The 2012 numbers are season end totals while the 2013 numbers are season to date
