I agree although one of if not the most powerful army in the world, I'm pretty sure China has more soldiers in their army than we do. I'd almost bet there are a couple other nations out there too with more soldiers maybe India and even Russia. This I could see. Maybe it was just poorly worded on his part.
Total military size (personnel), USA falls behind Russia, North Korea, South Korea, Vietnam, India, China, and Iran. Active duty wise, we are 2nd only to China. Budget wise, we outspend any other country. Of all the defense budgets throughout the world, USA accounts for 22% of the total. We are either technologically beyond every other country, or getting fleeced by defense contractors.
I am on the "front lines" so to speak in terms of dealing with illegal immigrants each day. What is crazy to me (but I have to abide by all laws and my orders) is that I can come across illegal immigrants all day long and I cannot do anything about it unless they commit a violent act. I can identify who they are and where they live yet am powerless to do anything. Crazy. I wonder if people in our country would be so lax if our country was surrounded by countries like Afghanistan, Iran, and Iraq and the majority of the illegal immigrants in our country were Arab instead of Hispanics. I suspect not.

Like the article states, the turning of a blind eye to illegal immigration in this country is a slap in the face to those who want to come here legally and wait in line to do so.
