The entire state of IL is taking a long shower these past couple days. I wish it was strong enough to clean up the politicians but if they aren't locked up then they are safe and dry standing on piles of envelopes "donated" to them...wait where was I?
I hope my Buddy can still take me out Fri after the rain stops for an evening hunt. Will the deer be moving more after a couple days of rain with the pre-rut in full swing?

    Good luck out there y'all.

I really think that after this rain moves out that things are going to pick up rather quickly.

I will hunt most of the day tomorrow and feel it should be the best hunt of the year so far.

My thoughts are that the deer will be moving after the rain stops.

I'm banking on good movement on Saturday in SW Wisconsin.

Here is East Central IL you are going to see a 14 degree drop in the high temps from today to saturday. I definitly think the activity is going to pick up after this rain is done.

The same system is making it's way to NY right now. We are in for it for a couple days too. While I hate it (hunting in it) when it's here, I LOVE it when it leaves. Always an explosion of activity when a couple days of high wind and rain finally subsides!

I don't know if I'll get out tomorrow but definitely gonna sit most of day Saturday and Sunday morning. I'm thinking it should get them up and moving. Either way I don't think it could slow down much more.

    This^^^

I am planning on my first all day sit tomorrow. I have a very good feeling about it (which means I will more than likely see nothing).

I was out both yesterday morning and afternoon in southern Illinois. First time this year I haven't even seen a deer on a sit. Unfortunately I spooked the buck I was after on my way back out. Only good news is that I got a decent look at the deer and I believe its a 3 year old 6pt which for me is a shooter. Also I'm debating heading out late today but with the wind I'm not sure they will be on their feet.

I'll be out for an all day sit or until I get both tags filled. Every sit will be planned as an all dayer from here on out. Been anticipating tomorrow for a week and a half now, disappointment looms lol.

Rain is supposed to be done and gone by around 3 or 4 here. I'm heading home from work at 3, taking a quick shower, dressing and sprinting to my stand. Gonna set up my decoy out in the beans, hopefully I can draw one of my target bucks in.

I saw only one doe tonight. Definitely slow but the temperature stayed in the mid 60's.
