Who's going this weekend? I'm taking my sons and a friend from Missouri to my moms farm in Fayette County. We haven't shotgun hunted there for 5 years so I'm excited to see whats in store for us.
I'm all bow anymore, I'm sure one day I'll change or at least go out with my dad and kids when they get a bit older. Good luck to you and your hunting party!
I'll be out there but I wish bow season was a couple weeks longer before firearm season for my own personal reasons haha... I've been seeing an 8-pointer pushing 150" and just haven't had things fall together for me. My dad and I moved a stand on top of a ridge he's been crossing, but what do ya know.... he finds himself a lady friend and who knows where he is now. I had my last bow hunt before season comes in tonight. I'm doing my assignments ahead of time so I can get out there opening morning and hopefully put him down before anyone else gets a chance. Seems the hunter population on surrounding land quadruples once firearm season starts.
That's my favorite part about Lake County...no gun season! My least favorite part about Lake County is the lack of places to hunt, and the liberal landowners that are straight RUDE when you kindly ask for permission well in advance of opening day. But, it's their land...what can you do.
Yep, Ill be out there. Mostly for border patrol on my property, but if something to my liking strolls by he'll get some copper and lead sent his way.
I'll be in a stand from Friday-Sunday. It's usually a good time, and we usually get a good buck or 2 down during those 3 days.
Well........who put some lead in some deer today? I shot a small doe this afternoon. Passed on a nice buck that I call Windy. I have had a few encounters with him, but just didn't seem right to take him with a gun.
