Has anyone been capturing with their trail cams or seeing any daytime movement this week in IL, MO, or IN? I'm planning on sitting all day tomorrow, but any sort of inspiration would help my mind settle for the long day ahead of me. I checked my cameras Tuesday and saw a couple of does moving around at noon, but no bucks. I also set up on a well used rub line and made a mock scrape nearby. I’m hoping that the three day laps since I created it will allow the bucks in the area time to recognize it and come on in to meet this new mock Buck.
I'm in Iowa. Starting to slowly see some daytime activity. Just got off the phone with a friend in Wisconsin that just saw a few does out right now. I'm trying to figure out if I want to try to sit all day tomorrow too.
In southeast MO saw a young doe at 10:35 this AM and a pair of mature does at 11:10 this morning. Not much buck activity yet. This cooler weather could get thing moving.
I'm in IN. I finally have 2 does on camera after first light. Also, I have seen a few personally later in the evenings, about an hour before close.
I'm on a transition property quite away from the main food and great daytime browse so we almost always have some movement during the day on our property. Lots of doe movement...only one buck coming out during daytime (I consider middle 6or 8 hours of the day the daytime)
Well Ladies and Gents. the "All Day" sits are among us. I forced myself to sit all day Saturday, and at 2 PM I had a decent buck walk straight at me and bed down for an hour then he got up at 3 when a larger buck walked by. Get in those stands and stay put from now on. This guy will be using his vacation days next week fow show.
I have a buddy who got a real nice buck on camera moving at 11:30. I still think the major cruising/checking doe bedding time is a week or so away, but its definitely heating up
yes, I agree with on the week away, and thats why I'm glad I'm On-Call this week, so that I don't over do it down there. I just hope that the biggest of the two bucks will still be in that bedding area of the property. Not a lot of doe activity there, but lots and lots of buck signs. I feel like Christmas is next week and I'm 10 years old. lol
no I had this guy at 35 broad side for an hour, and I wanted him to move to a better spot. I was staring at him through a small window of a branch. all of a sudden a much bigger buck came out of nowhere and stepped on this other buck. they both moved away from me. I'm glad I didn't shoot at the smaller of the two, but I would have been happy with him as well.
Figured I'd bump this back to the top rather than create a new thread. Curious as to whether anything has started picking up yet during the late morning/afternoon hours. I'll be out the next three days and wondering if it is worthwhile to pull all day sits yet or not. I haven't been out since the 14th and only opening day before that so I don't have much to go on. Speaking specifically in the west central IL area, Morgan county in particular. It's going to be a fun next few weeks, hopefully the fun begins a half hour before sunrise tomorrow morning
I think so. I'd be sitting all day if I could. I haven't checked my cameras yet in 2 weeks, but they had a ton of noon doe's 2 weeks ago.
I'm curious myself, I think im going to sit all day tomorow just to see how the mid day movement is developing myself, ill def. post somethin to let you know how it goes. good luck to y'all!
