III - Team 3 Check in - III Let's get this thread rolling and all check-in to be sure each is committed. Also, let's introduce ourselves so that we all become familiar with one another! My name is Troy (I was creative with my username) and I live an hour west of Chicago. I have been bowhunting for 10 years now and with each year I have become more and more committed (and obsessed) with the sport. If you guys follow BHOD I just joined the Pro-staff this past year which I am extremely blessed to have been given that opportunity. My family owns a good chunk of property in NW IL of which there is a good supply of birds. This is only our second year with the property but last year we put down 2 good Toms. You will see me hunting with the opposition and fellow prostaffer Tim who is on another team but since I video'd last year I should be first up to bat. I have tags for the first and second season so I hope to come through for you guys and look forward to the comradery....let's get it done! Oh....and let's get some team name ideas tossed around. Team 3: ib_reel, ATbuckhunter, STriek, TroyS MI_Brad,
I had already started a check in thread. Called "III - Team 3 Check in - III". Can you respond to that one?
Sorry i didnt see this at all for some reason. Congrats on getting in the BHOD pro staff. I hunt in NY so I am guaranteed 2 tags for any weapon is considered legal. I hunt on a friends land since I don't own my own piece of property but am looking for my own. I currently have never shot a turkey in the spring because I have used a bow the whole time, but I have called a couple in before. I probably will use a shotgun for the first one to get my first spring gobbler then ill get back to the addiction of bowhunting turkeys. I did shoot my first turkey which was a hen back in October. Too bad NY's turkey season starts all the way on May 1st.
Just so you know this competition is bow only I believe. I'm very competitive but in this case am just looking for the camaraderie so go get your first spring gobbler with your shotgun and then if you get the chance stick an arrow in one. It's challenging but a great time! Welcome to the team.
Ill be taking both a bow and a shotgun so ill see what ill use depending on the situation. At least if i get lucky and get 2 i can use either one.
checkin in, though the name is spelled wrong not a big deal. Name is Steve, retired Army medic, been hunting off and on since i was 10 (so 34 years today) Looking forward to this season since last year was a bust, though the woods here have been rather quiet compared to last year. not sure if that is agood or bad yet guess i will wait and see
Was out this AM huntin yotes and the turkeys were sounding off. Gobblers were vocal till about 0800. Welcome Steve
Checking in, my name is Brad I'm 13 and my world basically revolves around hunting and the outdoors. This is gonna be my first year using my bow to hunt turkeys and am very hopeful. The area where I hunt has gotten me 2 good gobblers the 2 years I have been hunting them.
I like it Steve and thanks for starting the pot...I have a few more to throw in. Team Bonespur Team Deep Fry (cause thats where the birds end up!) Team Short Snood Team Stove Top (cause we be stuffin em)
All sounds great. My 2 favorites would have to be BS and Deep Fry. All I can come up with is "team death sentence"
I'm here....sorry I haven't seen this link guys.... I got two WI tags in my pocket and 3 good farms to hunt so I'm hoping to put down a couple of big ol' toms - lets go whack em I like the names another thought: "FAN"-tastic Five
It's official. We'll use this thread from here on out. Where's everyone hunting and when do they plan to be out chasing birds? I will be huting Illinois the weekend of April 20th and 27th. Until then I'm chompin at the bit!
