CO Dan Lee responded to a reported bait pile and located an elevated box blind in a
stand of mature pine trees. In a clearing in front of the blind and between the towering
pine trees, was a newly planted sapling apple tree, no more than six feet tall. Under the
apple tree was bushel sized pile of nice sized apples. The hunter in the blind indicated
the apples must have come from the apple tree. The CO then pointed out the grocery
store sticker on one of the apples. Enforcement action was taken.

    Epic FAIL!!! lol.

i never understood the lengths some folks would go to, to illegally harvest deer/game. if they would only channel those efforts into proper, legal measures they would take just as many, or if not bigger game. IMO

    YEAH!!! lol.

Why don't we ever get people on these forums that own up to baiting, and what not?
I really would like to talk to some of these guys, and see what makes them do what they do.

If you are despirate to kill something, coyotes come to mind. That would be helpful.
I for one just enjoy sitting in the woods. lol. Couldn't care less about what comes by.

    Indeed...

I wish I could tell you guys how many times the GW has checked us (Dad, Uncle, Myself) and left with someone laughing to tears.

They always seemed to find us on the lake, or somewhere. They got to know them (dad and uncle) pretty good over the years.

They should make a list of the people they check that ARE within regs. lol..

    More like this one.:
CO Todd Szyska responded to a complaint from the MSP of a deer trapped in a
swimming pool in Novi. CO Szyska arrived on scene and the homeowner was able to
successfully remove the deer from the deep end by prodding it with the pool skimmer.
Sgt. Arthur Green also arrived on scene to assist. The deer removed itself without
    incident.

CO Carla Soper, Manistee County, responded to a complaint of hunter harassment
where an individual had been consistently interfering with hunters on a section of state
owned land. As CO Soper arrived, she found the subject leaving the state land and
stopped his vehicle. The subject had a loaded .22 in his truck and had no licenses.
CO Soper was able to obtain warrants for the hunter harassment and the subject was
    arrested for the offenses.

I would like to hear this whole story...

EDIT: This guy might be on to something ... lol.
CO Dave Rodgers responded to a trespass complaint where a subject placed a hunting
blind, large bait pile and trail camera on private property without permission. The
landowner seized the subject's trail camera and blind and provided these to CO
Rodgers. On the trail camera was an official looking sticker stating, "DNR #109". When
contacted, the subject who was observed on the trail camera placing bait, stated that
the sticker was to keep others from messing with the camera. CO Rodgers will seek
    charges for recreational trespass.

    Like why do it, when you know;
    1) The risks
    2) The law forbids it
    3) ...Idk. I'd have to think about it.

Yeah. Like I said. Don't care, as long as it's legal. lol.
I just want to talk to the people that know it's not, but still do it. Hell, I'll keep it off the record too. I just want to know why do it? Why risk it?

I like my Jeep, Bow, etc. Too much to risk it for a deer, or whatever. Not worth it in my opinion.

It's legal to bait in most (if not all) of NC. They even sell deer corn on the side of the road this time of year.

I'm sure they do... I don't get out much though. lol.
I really don't plan on "Baiting". Unless a pig is in the equation even then, I don't know if I would.

PS: Please grammar check your sig line. Lol. It's driving me nuts.

Its legal here and I dont look down on people who hunt like that but its just not my cup of tea. Id rather beat him at his own game. ANYONE can shoot a deer at a feeder or a bait pile shoot id have a lot of deer by now if I hunted at places where they did that. But not everyone can go and scout, find sign, hang stands...ect MHO
