My buddy and I have been trying to find a time when we wouldn't abandon our wives and children but we could get together and watch "Taken"... ever since I watched the first trailer, I've been wanting to catch this movie. We classify movies as "rentals" or "big-screen movies", and we knew this one was a movie we wanted to catch in the theater. It's been showing for quite a while now locally, so we figured our time was running out. We went to a 10 o'clock showing last night... On the way out the door, I grabbed a Cherry Coke Zero to put some caffeine into me since I was going to be up past midnight. Yep, I'm getting old, and I know it. :d Two mistakes: One, I sure as heck didn't need the caffeine booster once the movie started, and I about messed on myself late in the show because there wasn't one SECOND of non-stop action to leave and go take a whiz. The only worse time I've ever had doing something similarly was when we both went to watch "Enemy of the State"... that one about caused some serious medical problems for us; you should have seen two grown men leaving the seats bent almost all the way over shuffling to the restrooms. Gotta say... I don't give too many movies these days props at ALL... but "Taken" is at the top of the heap of best movies I've EVER seen.
The wife and kids have seen it, I had to work that night They loved it!! Ill wait till its out on DVD! sounds like a good one OLE MAN!! :d
Jeff, Yep, that's it. LOL, Dan! Just make sure if you rent it you're ready to go and have a solid two-hour block of time with no interruptions. AWESEOME movie. I think me and that same friend are going to go see "12 rounds" one of these late nights sometime this next week... Looks to be another good one, but a bit more over-the-top, sort of Die-Hard style.
Amen to that, Greg. I was lucky enough to receive a copy of Taken before its release and immediately backed it up, after viewing. I must have watched it 3 or 4 times that week -the best movie I've seen in years!
Awww, sounds like it was a nice date you two had Greg. Last time I saw a movie in the theater it was 'The Village'. That had to be a million years ago because I went with Jeremy who worked at HNI at the time. Dang.
I agree, great flick. I hadn't been to the actual movies in years until another couple suggested we go with the to see Taken. Great movie, non stop action.
Me and a group of friends went to see it, and my one friend was going for a second time. I thought it was going to be a scary movie. Boy, was I wrong. It is like the Bourne movies, but better. Loved it!
I thought it was just ok. They could've got a different dude to play the big bad father. It wasn't bad but wasn't that great either IMO.
