Neither is available to me I'll go with the wild plum tree I found in the middle of an oak grove. both the plums and acorns were falling when I was there on Sunday. If the wind is right I'll be there for the Saturday AM opener.

That's the opposite of what I have found with beans? Around here they eat them all summer long while they are green and then start to leave them as they turn brown.

But they seem to come back for them later in the Fall especially if they are still standing.

lol, hmmm.... I think you're deer might be goofy. 99% of the velvet footage taken is of big bucks eating in green (color) beans during the summer.

Anyway, Siman... these are my thoughts: Take the alfalfa over the beans and sit here!! :D

...funny thing is, ive had stand in almost EXACTLY every place you put those yellow dots :D

I hung it on the edge of the beans. And im happy with my decision. I found 3-4 non-important scrapes, and 4-5 trails where they have been entering the field. These beans have been hit hard. Now all i need is a wind from the west (not to strong) and an evening off.

If that's you're only choices, I'd go for the beans.

Man, the deer are hitting the beans by my place. Bucks too, only after sunset. Like Rick James I like to also hit the browse food sources for the bucks during shooting light since they are moving late.

Without looking at any other post..

Near the field with best buck bedding and within closest distance to field.. and keeping in mind acorns.

Acorns near a dense bedding area. That would be the best choice in our area.

What type of mast surrounds the bean and alfalfa fields, respectively?

I was seeing good bucks in the green fields right up till they browned out. Depends on the pressure they have seen thus far.

They tend to hit the beans until late July or early August. Then nothing. I should have explained better. Sorry

Corn for me, it's mostly what I have in my hunting areas, and the deer seem to love it!
