I started to think about all the good bucks I have seen or taken....and a trend clicked in my head today.

If I had to pick only three days per year to hunt they would be November 7th, 8th, and 9th. I see more action on those days than any other 3 day period of the year, consistently.

You don't have to pick consecutive dates like myself. Which three days would you hunt if you only had three days per year to hunt?

I'd pick opening day because I'm like a kid on Christmas that first day of finally being in the woods. No better feeling. Then I'd pick the same time frame as you for the other two... November 8th and 9th.

Josh, October 1st sounds good to me. It is a goal of mine to put down a good buck the first week of hunting season next year. I probably will not do it but I am going to try!

Here in the big woods of Idaho. Probably the first three days of season August 30th or the last three days of season what used to be Dec 23..

ND - definately late season, I want really cold weather, bitter conditions and corn. Any three nasty cold days after Christmas

Iowa- I'd take any three days from Nov 7-30th..... Late season out there on feed would be really good too. like right now!

Alberta I went over Thanksgiving, lots of movement then too!

Montana River bottoms Mid-November, bucks cruising just starting to seek and chase

My 2 biggest bucks should've been taken 5 days apart. My 2007 buck was shot on October 24th. The buck I wounded this year was on October 19th. That's telling me something.

Other then them dates the 15th through the 18th of November have been my best sits the last 5 years or so. Prior to them 5 years November 6th was always an awesome day for me to be In the woods. I saw bucks all the time and lots of them. Honestly I can't pick one 3 day stretch, It's too tough. I guess though If I absolutely had to It would be November 15th through the 18th.

I'd hunt Oct 26th, 27th, and 28th. I see more bucks in my area during the pre-rut seeking phase than during the actual rut when a lot of bucks are locked down (not moving) with hot does.;)

I've taken bucks the last 2 yrs on 11/27. So, I'd have to say the weekend of Thanksgiving. The rut's still in full effect, here.

    My buck kill dates are: 9/30; 10/4; 10/31; 11/6; 11/27; 11/27; 11/29; 12/9

Last few days of Nov. have been good to me.

I'd probably pick Nov 4, 5, 6.... Nov 5th has been the day I've seen the most activity over the years here.
