if you could build a climber and i'm pretty certain some of you crafty folks have already but what would you do differently than most of the products thats on the market?
It would be light and fit my big ole Marine a$$, with pouches on it for all my trash I carry in my buttpack.
id put a 42" flat screen on it. but seriously, i think a wider seat would be a nice addition. either that or all the ones ive used were just cheaper i guess.
So would I....but with one upgrade. I'd figure out a way to get the hand climber seat to flip up, so I could get closer to my tree. If LW got that fixed, they'd have the perfect stand.
Just like GMMAT Said, my Lone Wolf hand climber is perfect except I would like the seat to flip up. I actually sent them an email last week requesting that design one that does. Probably won't happen but I asked. If I'm being picky, maybe a little more cushion in the seat.
my 2nd hand climber is ancient. the platform is too small, the seat/top part is to narrow and i'm a small frame fella ,the seat sucks, everytime i shoot my bow it slaps the rail during my follow thru, i like the concept and design just wish for bigger dimensions wider/longer platform, light wieght non-metallic frame, maybe snaps around the outside of the hand railing for accessories and for concealment curtains sort of like a burlap camo w/snaps!
Agreed 100%. As it is I just rotate the seat around the tree and out of the way but, ideally, it would flip up like the Alpha hang-on seat does. If it did flip up I would probably use the climber more than 10% (or less) of the time.
I'm OK with the current LW hand climber design....my only request is to make it lighter. I would pay double the price if they could drop the weight to 9lbs. Can they do that with Carbon fiber? That's right. I would pay 800 - 1000 bucks for that! Would be a no brainier of an investment.
I would take a Summit Openshot Deluxe and replace the cable/lock system with the Lone Wolf traction belt/lock system. And possibly make the existing flip up seat with a "Lock/Unlock" system to lock it "up" while standing, and be able to unlock it to fold down without much movement. That would be my perfect climber for run and gun setups. I like the Summit Openshot Deluxe more every time I use it.
