I'm looking at that one too, Tony. I like the looks of that one. I can see I'm gonna have to spend a day somewhere and just look at all of these. I wanna know how they feel in hand.

I have a big hand and this feels great to me .... I like the frame on the .45 but for a conceal piece.... not for me ... and the .40 does a kick arse job, anyway

    .38s are woosy guns :D

I'm not sold on the 40 as yet. Not that it's not enough stopping power because it certainly is. But I'm gonna need to shoot whatever I get quite a bit (prolly several hundred rounds) and to be honest, 40 cal ammo is rather difficult to find around here. And I still think (in my mind, which may be entirely wrong) if I'm gonna shoot a 40 I may as well shoot a 45.

I'm giving consideration to a 9 mike mike, but the 38 is almost the same thing. Man, I dunno. Now I know how all these newbie archery people that come into the shop and have no idea what they want are feeling.........TOO many choices. Good thing I have a couple months before I need to decide.

9 ammo is dirt cheap, (reletively speaking) as is .38 .... but the.40 will be your better $ buy than the .45 ... especially if you reload yourself .... which if you are gonna shoot alot, I would HIGHLY recommend ;)

Tony, that's a damn good point, and one I hadn't thought of. I never even gave thought to reloading my own. And I don't know why not. I've been reloading shotgun ammo for years.

My F-in-law has a Kel-tec 9mm. When I was looking for a .380, I considered the Kel-tec 3-A-T but it just seeed cheaply made. Reminded me of a toy gun. Same goes for the 9mm my F-in-law has.

ok are you guys buying handguns to defend your homes or just to conceal and carry because you can???
and at what point do you feel you can draw your weapon legally ?

I know around here if you get pulled over by a cop and they run your plate and see you have a c/c lic they will tell you to slow down or whatever they pulled you over for, but they want you to keep it concealed and be on your way.

    just asking.

Mobow...I've got a solution for you. Glock makes a smaller handgun in either 9mm or .40 cal. Glock 26/27. Check it out.

Thanks, Donnie. Throw another one into the mix to confuse me even more. Super. LOL......I'll definitely take a look at that one, too. Looks like it may have a shorter barrel than I want though.

I have a Kel Tec Sub 2000 that shoots 9mm Glock Clips, not the best made gun but wasn't expensive either.

ok are you guys buying handguns to defend your homes or just to conceal and carry because you can???

Well...I've got the house taken care of. I'd like to find one I could carry more easily than the one I now have and carry.

and at what point do you feel you can draw your weapon legally ?

That's a REALLY good question. The answer, I'm afraid, is misunderstood by MANY. Brandishing a weapon in most states is a HUGE no-no.

I know around here if you get pulled over by a cop and they run your plate and see you have a c/c lic they will tell you to slow down or whatever they pulled you over for, but they want you to keep it concealed and be on your way.

    ???????

It's not against the law to have a gun in plain sight, here in NC (in your vehicle).

    just asking.

LOL...no problem. Check this out when you get a chance. Just goes to show you how tough a glock is.

As much as I'm trying to push a glock on you....you'd think that's what my main carry gun would be. LOL. :D

Or walking downtown with it visibly showing on your side. You'd get some stares and probably the cops called but its perfectly legal. Wouldn't recommend it though. ;)

I bought a little .38 special in October of last year. I bought it with the idea of teaching the wife to use it as she leaves work late at night and I'd feel better if she knew how to defend herself. We haven't gotten around to the teaching yet and I might be a "woosy" as PT says:) but it's damn convienent. I can carry it in the front pocket of my jeans and no one is the wiser. The only living thing I have shot with it so far has been a squirrel and he didn't really like it all that much. I do want a 9mm and have plans to handle a Taurus 809 in the near future. The XDm is also on that list.
