Checked my camera tonight. This guy just couldn't wait to shed that velvet.

It seems like he's a bit early for my area (NW Missouri), I haven't seen any other deer that have shed.

Nice buck! A few of the smaller bucks I'm seeing are starting to shed a little. Makes you even more excited for the season! :tu:

It does seem a bit early, but that's been the word this week, as more reports are coming in here in Wisconsin, of some hard horned buck sightings. Great pics by the way!

I've got a couple small bucks that were hard horned last weekend. It's that time.

I was surprised to see a more mature deer shed before all the little scrub bucks I have on film.

I'm about an hour north of KC, about 20 miles east of St. Joe. How about you?

I live in St. Joe. So you live in the Stewartsville/Cameron area. Small world. My farm is 5 miles north of Grant City and I hunt around the Pumpkin Center, Graham area.

No kidding. I am from Stewartsville. My farm is 4 miles north of there.

I also occasionally hunt around Grant City. My wife's grandparents have about 160 acres just on the south side of Grant City, and they have a 40 up on the Iowa Line (Missouri side). That's where I took my first buck, but I don't hunt up there as much as I used to since I can just walk out the backdoor of my house to hunt now.
