I want to start a new food plot this spring and was wanting to get ideas for the best thing to plant. I am not worried about shooting deer right from the start just want to do what's best for the land and looking to the future. The ground is a sandy soil. I will have tests ran on it in a couple weeks when I'm up there. Planted alfalfa last year and the grew fine. Had one cutting on that. Millet was grown and bailed last year. Planted all that ground back to natural grass in the fall last year.
Here is the map with info on the land.
Please let me know what you think and any ideas you may have. Thanks

Buckwheat is hard to beat as a soil builder. The deer may use it and if you let it go to seed then plow it under, you will get another crop.
