Just got these pics in an email. Says it was killed in Idaho recently, as there is now a season there. I have been getting quite a few emails with wolves from out there, but this is one of the best looking wolves I have ever seen. I've killed a few grey ones, but would give my left pinky to shoot one like this.

I will be elk hunting in Idaho soon. Very beautiful animals!!!!! All we have to do is control the population so there is a balance. Awesome pictures!

Very cool! A full mount would be in order on that one.

I've talked to you about this before, Dan. That's the ONE animal I'd like to take with a ML.

    Bucket list.

    Thanks for sharing.

Yea that's definitely gotta be the prettiest coat I've ever seen on a wolf.
I hope it was from Idaho, one less elk eater. ;)

It's almost blueish grey. Best looking wolf I have ever seen.

Of the three I have shot, 2 are skinned, tanned and hanging and the other I had a rug made out of it. I'll take some pics later and post them.

But, if I shot a big white, black or one like this, I would have a full body mount.

That's my biggest fear with a solo elk hunt in my Idaho unit. After getting an elk down I would worry being by myself. Bears I can deal with seeing they pretty much work alone, but wolves are pack animals. A guy who lives out there is helping me set up this hunt and wolves are his biggest issue. He says the wolf population is thriving for sure! Numerous hunters have talked of being shadowed by wolves on numerous occasions throughout a hunt. It's a downed elk issue...You just never know.

(kind of looks like a wolf-dog to me... but they're testing it. Supposed to weigh about 140 lbs)

This picture was taken in March in Oregon IL.

I was thinking hybird too when on the top picture when I read the article in Chicago Sun Times last week. The trail cam photo looks like a true grey wolf to me. If the top one pans out as a true wolf that would make the 5th confirmed wolf in IL. in the last 3 years. And here we go...........
