Fishing on Minnewaska was poor Friday night and Saturday day. Went home to a local lake for an hour tonight with the portable and caught 6 crappies over 11" and 1 22" walleye.

I spent 6 hours fishing today, and didn't catch a thing! I have next to no knowledge of where to go when the ice is on. Endured some light rain for the last couple hours. Oh well.

Guys weekend at leech lake this weekend. Staying at Andersons Cove in Walker. Thinking of bringing this back for my girlfriend for Valentine's Day.

Going to be hitting my lake this weekend! Just bought an awesome permanent shack at a steal price last week!

maybe 2 weeks ago a 30 year old male and his 4 year old son fell through the ice on Alderman Lake here in MI. The son fell in first and dad chased after him, unfortunately they both lost their lives, they were in the water no longer than 5 minutes. Alderman has a couple springs that feed it all year round, plus at that time the weather was around 40 and we had steady rain for a few days.

I stopped going out after hearing about this incident and the warm weather. Hopefully this week's low temps will freeze some ice again.

Caught this guy last weekend on my jog pole. Put up quite a fight!

Probably won't go this weekend since it's going to be so cold but next weekend is going to be nice from the sounds of it

We went out yesterday, good ice and caught a good mess of blue gill, perch and crappie, this nice bass and three small pike on tip ups...a pretty good day. ImageUploadedByBowhunting.com Forums1455240267.035430.jpg ImageUploadedByBowhunting.com Forums1455240279.656179.jpg

Picked up and headed home due to snow that's coming. Here's my biggest of the short trip.

So... I'm in the market for a new fish locator. Looking at the Vexilar fl20 but am open to others.

With spring coming I'm looking at buying used from Craigslist. If anyone has any deals they could share that would be awesome.

I absolutely love my Marcum vx-1 pro. Seems like a lesser model but has all the same features of the higher end vexilars for half the price. Check them out!

Vexilars are way too loud for me.

    This one is $225.... $160?!?!?!

Still a much better deal than the vexilars.

That's the one! Fish with my cousin 95% of time and he's got an fl-20. I'd take mine over his any day of the week. Nice soft case too. Transducer arm is cheap but I got a custom metal one made.

We absolutely killed the crappies today. 3 fish over 14" in the group. One going on the wall.

This lake keeps producing fish... Went out last night and caught 100 fish between 5 guys. Went this morning and caught another 30. Not even keeping fish, just enjoying a hot bite on good sized crappies.

Going out this afternoon to hopefully get a limit for a fish fry tonight.
