I was out three afternoons last week. Not much going on. Missed the big perch bite by a day or two. Just some little walleyes to show for my time. Ice was a good 13' - 15" so will be driving the truck on the lake this weekend. Had to use the 4 wheeler last week which was fine with the little snow we have. Good luck on the hard water! You can check out the perch we have here on the Perch Patrol guide service website. http://www.perchpatrol.com/fishing_report.htm
I haven't even thought about ice fishing, but now that bow season is over I'll start sneaking out after some crappies
I got out today for the first time this year on the local mud puddle. I got a new shanty last year but didn't even get to use it because it was so warm, there was only like 2 weeks of safe ice. I finally got to set it up today and it's awesome. I have this little lake close to home that is filled with bass, panfish, and small to medium sized pike and pickerel. I don't really fish for anything other than pike when I'm on the ice, and even though you won't ever catch real big ones here it's a great place to chase flags and catch lots of 25-35" pike. I ended up with 7 fish total for the day out of about a dozen flags. I actually got double flags before I could get all 5 tipups in the water. Overall a great couple of hours on the ice. I'm headed up north this weekend for 3 days of chasing big pike, and I can't wait!
I've been out around 8 or 9 times the bite is fairly slow around here. I picked up a new marcum lx5 so I have to make that investment worth it. I bought a new clam flip over last year. Now all I need is a new auger and I'm set. Sent from iPhone
Heading out for a tourney in the morning. Didn't get a chance to prefish but hopefully I can place. Sent from iPhone
Been Catching quite a few walleyes in Central MN. Also made a trip up to lake of the woods. Caught quite a few eyes and saugers there too.
Local tourney on Lake Thompsen. Its a larger lake for eastern SD. I hit up Lake Okaboji and Spirt LAke in IA last week and man were they slow. We worked hard for our limits of Bluegills with only one keep crappie, I never even marked a fish on Spirit the 2 hours we were out there.
prob'ly try for a couple hours tomorrow...surely some crappie slabs and hopefully a few gills with occasional ok perch on the side....heard they been getting good perch and some coho in Chequamegon Bay but I'll be on some miniscule semi-private waters.
I've been out 3 times so far and got a few pike and some gills. A matter of fact the first 15 minutes I was out last friday I got a snake. (Pike)
I was on the lake all morning hunting for something bigger than a 1/4 lb walleye with no luck. I saw plenty of little ones on the camera that weren't much bigger than the bait. It was still a good morning. Maybe I can find the big ones tomorrow.
Got out once last week, just to freeze my fingers and catch one 3 inch gill... Tomorrow I will be fishing down on the Stevens Point Flowage area for a little bit of everything.
