All this talk about Ice fishing on here has got me wanting to go again.
My dad was out this last weekend, with some luck. He went with a friend of his, at his house. (Ottertail, MN).
They woke up on Sunday, and went back out to the lake, but the only problem was that when they got there, the road on the lake was flooded. My dad started to walk out there on the snow side, and found out that the water was about 3 feet deep under the snow.
So, they went to breakfast instead.

Now I want to go. but the wife is not as enthusiastic about it as I am. We don't have a house to use, and she is still skittish when it comes to driving on the ice. She keeps using the excuse that insurance doesn't cover it if the Jeep falls in.
She does like fishing, she doesn't mind Ice, but she wont go icefishing unless we can get into a house. What a dweeb.

I took her and her sister (visiting from AZ) out to a lake two years ago, and we didn't catch anything. THen they decided to go back to the car for something. WHen they got back, I had 3 crappies, and a 3lb Bass on the ice. Then again, didn't catch anything.
I think she had something to do with it. Women are bad luck.

Rent an ice house for a weekend with the wife. Great way to get away for a quiet weekend and you get to fish. Call Lyback's on Mill Lacs! Can rent a nice place cheap.

Looks like some good times Isaiah!! 14" crappie, not bad!! I'm heading to Upper Red Lake February 10th thru the 13th In hopes of getting a crappie or 2. The walleye's will be easy to catch, It's the big crappies that are few and far between. If anyone knows anything about Red Lake In northern Mn It was known for some huge outstanding crappies. 14" to 15" crappies were the norm every day for about 7 years. There all but gone now but a few.

    Isaiah,
That last one has got to be the best catch I have ever seen. But you should throw them back until they grow into real beers.

Red Lake does seem to be the place to go. It's too bad that the...never mind. I don't want to get into a debate on that subject.
My brother in law goes up there with his friends for a week every year. They never seem to catch anything but a hangover.

Nah, catching fish really wasn't the motive for this. It's kinda like hunting. I just want to get away from the crap here in the city.

I have never had problems catching fish. Until the little lady came around. I swear it's her.

I seen a guys a couple of yrs ago, put a brand new crew cab chevy into lake geneva. Bummer was that he drove over the only weak spot near the shore. He buried it up to the firewall. The thing to remember, is that auto insurance generally doesn't cover the loss.
