I just put in my application yesterday for the apprenticeship program at the Local IBEW. Ive been thinking about it for a while now and I finally think it would be a good career for me. I have to get my transcripts sent to the office and then wait for my letter in the mail so I can schedule my entrance test. So my question is are there any of you union guys on here? And how was it starting out as an apprentice? Did they give you alot of gopher jobs(what I expect) or did they actually put you in a place that you can learn? What kind of tool requirements were you expected to get before you started? Thanks guys.
