This past Saturday I took the IBEP bowhunter ed instructors course. Here is the group. I'm the good looking guy in the white shirt and camo cap in the back row. I'm still not certified to teach. I have to get interviewed by my local Game Warden this coming Monday night and then my application goes to Austin to Texas Parks and Wildlife headquarters. I should be a certified instructor in a couple of weeks.
Russ, I was headed to your house after class but that nutjob was on the 360 overpass at I-20 threatening to jump and traffic was a nightmare. I turned around first chance I had.
Mate. Ya shoulda got out and pushed him off Don't know why they try and talk these idiots down, tell em to jump and get it over and done with.
I took what was said to be a IBEP bowhunter Ed course, but when I received a Bowhunter Ed card, it was from my state DNR, not the NBEF.....any ideas on who to call for clarification? Does the NBEF even issue cards or is that left up to the state you take the class in?
It will be from your states DNR. Not to worry though. Your student # will go into a national data base and is good in any state or province requiring bowhunter ed.
Thanks for the info...I won't need it immediately, but I figure before too long I will run into a state where I have to have it so I jumped on the class offered...the instructor told me the last one offered was in 2002....must not be much interest around here (well in this state in general, I drove 2 hours to get to the class)!
Tx doesn't require it either so there isn't much demand but as more other states require it more guys will be looking for a last minute class to qualify for a tag in say, Kansas or Colorado. Thats right guys, Colorado.( The IBEP card is accepted in lieu of hunters ed if you are bowhunting).
