I was clearing a path from a field to my stand with my weedeater with a brush cutter blade on it. Somehow some brush got tangled up in it and I reached down to pull it loose and the damn thing bit me. I ended up in the ER and got 14 stitches. OUCH I should be alright by the 15th for MO's opener.
YUP, coulda been much worse. No muscle or tendon damage, just the web between the finger and thumb. Kinda hard to hold a bow right now.
Man, talk about a stroke of bad luck. At least you didn't cut anything such as a tendon. Hope you recover quickly. Man it would surprise you how many people do the same thing w/mowers & snow throwers.
Holy cow dude, you got lucky!!! I've always lived in fear of cutting my fingers/toes when using one of those blades. I've had them snap back on me a few times when cutting through some bigger brush/limbs that I probably shouldn't have been cutting in the first place. Hopefully it heals up soon so you can get out there and do some killin'!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Dang it Johnno, that is just not going to work my friend Glad you didnt loose a finger or something. Thats not the blood trail you want to leave in your woods. Dont get to worried but your fingers may permantly swell up Thats how i got my start. :d
Just feeling how much better it feels today than yesterday, I think I'll be back shooting in no time. I don't want to add anything that will effect my form or impact point. Just gonna lay off for a while and hopefully when I get back I won't have change anything. But thanks for the idea. If I am not able to shoot a couple days before opening day, I may check it out.
Dangit, man!! (in my best Will Primos impersonation ) Glad to see it was no worse... that still sucks though.
