Good luck John !! I couldn't complain about the wind direction. Sure would be nice if the bucks traveled the same way two days in a row. Our's just bounce all over. One day they are here... the next they are 1 mile over there. Flustrating... especially when the wind does cooperate. The buck tonight was still interested in the doe fawns which doesn't help as they bounce from one doe group to the another doe group the next day or so. It was really tough patterning bucks the last couple weeks. I am really looking forward to next fall... when you can take the doe out of the equation. It makes buck hunting a lot nicer !!! Again good luck !!
John, I still have faith for U big fella! its gonna happen, keep on keeping on till the last second of the last day of daylight! Great bucks fall every season to guys in the late late season! All the efforts that have put in this season are bound to put you in the right place at the right time.
Man, you are having the same kind of year that I have had so far. 4 shooters within 50 yards, none would come into bow range. These bucks ranged anywhere from 130-170. Talk about heart break...
Good luck John, hope you get a shot at him. These temps and my work schedule are keeping out of the woods for the moment. Hopefully about Wednesday I can make it out. 3 does but no bucks for me so far.
I got your message late last night buddy. Sounds like an exciting hunt. Disappointing though for sure. Good luck man. Keep at 'em.
Dang John!!!! Good luck this weekend! Looks like Johnny and I are heading down on the 13th for a couple days.
Good luck John. You've been coming close this season, now it's time to close the deal. BTW, did you ever figure out what was up with your trailer?
I think The "Hugger" buck is a good name for him. Those antlers sure look like they want to give me a hug!!!
I have had a very similar experience this year, big bucks ohh so close, just not close enough or not in the right spot. The biggest deer I have ever seen from a deer stand was 25 yards behind me headed my way when he stopped and went another direction back in November. I think I did cry a little.
Tick-tock....tick-tock....our big buck challenge is in it's last leg John. Like I told you on the phone last night...I hope this guy or another brute slips up in these few upcoming weekends. I saw Johnny out last night and told him of your encounter, and he echoed me by saying something is definantly going to die in that food plot this late winter. Hope the next call is one needing some help dragging him out.
