You can do it man, it's all about habits and it's all in your head. I quit 2 years ago and I couldn't be happier with the decision. The money alone is worth it let alone the other benefits. Want it!!! You have to want it to make it work.

I think it is more psychological. When I'm worn down or stressed, I crave it. But I've held strong. It has been bad this year. Do I just exercise to exhaustion. Lol

Once you get over the physical, then will be the mental.

Bottom line....... anything worth doing is usually tough but when you "win" it's such a good feeling!!!!!

I played baseball in college and dipping just went with the territory. I'm 45 now and it had a HORRIBLE hold on me. I flat could not quit and go 2 days in a row without a dip.

I had a heart attack 5/24/17, a bad one. All of my bloodwork prior and blood pressure everything perfect and in line. I'd just had my yearly physical 6 days earlier. I eat clean, workout, ride my bike, etc. I had 2 strikes against me that overrode the good things I was doing - PHENOMINALLY bad family history and I dipped.

I had a dip on Tuesday 5/23 the day before my heart attack and none since. I know it's only been 10 days but that's a huge step for me. I actually haven't had the first urge which is weird to me because I always had a dip in. I'm sure the urges will hit me as certain things I do associate with a dip. I've already mowed the lawn and super surprised that didn't trigger it.

When I collapsed getting to the ER and my wife and kids were crying "Daddy don't leave me!" when I came to, I think it trumped any urge I'll ever have.

I'm glad you're still around to tell your story. Good luck in kicking this thing completely. Sounds like you're off to a great start.
