Whatever it takes to get you or anybody else to quit smoking, all the better. I smoked for 25 years. Tried more times than I can count to stop. If this is what it takes for you best of luck. Just think, when you quit, take the money you were spending on smokes, and bank it. And you will have enough to fund a new bow every year for the rest of your life.
I'm just glad to hear that for his health purposes not a scent issue. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Like others have said here, I wish you the best of luck!!!! I chewed/dipped in high school and college because I was a lacrosse player (needed my lungs and endurance), but this only led to me later smoking. 2 years ago my grandmothers (who is like a mother to me and raised me) life had changed when her COPD became far worse to the point of her being diagnosed with "End Stage COPD/Emphysema" she now is in and out of the hospital constantly and is on Oxygen most of the day/night and can no longer do much/anything for the most part. One of the strongest people in my life, someone who never let anything stand in her way now has so many different restrictions that her way of life has drastically decreased. It is very upsetting and she feels like she is "waiting around to die" and watching her go through all of this was a HUGE eye openeer to me. I wanted to get ahead of the game and stop while I was still young! I hate to see her going through what she is going through and also do not want to put my family through the same situation. I quit almost 2 years ago cold turkey, it was extremely hard but worth it. After a little while of stopping cold turkey I was getting some big cravings, so I used an electronic cigarette starting with the highest level of nicotine and gradually lowering it as time went on. I feel far much better without the cigarettes and know I def made the right decision. I wish you the best of luck and just stay strong!
True. I rambled on more about scent than health but health, by far, is the most obvious reason to quit. For himself And those around him. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I used to chew tobacco and dip snuff before I was 10 years old and finally quit cold turkey. Got up one morning about 4 years ago and said enough of this and never picked it again. I am going on 50 years old now and don't regret it one bit.
Assuming you are talking about cigarettes , have you thought about vaping? I know of many that quit smoking that way.... Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Congrats. Should add some more years of bowhunting to your life as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It was easy once I had a heart attack, one in three survive them! Instead of thinking about being a better hunter perhaps you want to think about staying alive!
I quit smoking 3 years ago on bow opener eve. I used the step 3 patch and some serious will power! It was honestly the hardest thing I've ever done but it has paid off big time my health is better, I have more money, and I believe my hunting has improved as well. I wish you the best of luck and just know that it can be done and it does get easier with time!
Congrats on your decision - hope you're able to stick with it! Have never met a person who regretted quitting smoking. On a side note I fixed the typo in the thread title. It was driving me nuts.
