I'm quieting smoking (hopefully) to be a better bow hunter this season so i thought maybe their will be others doing the same thing. so with some help from my dr. and BUPROPION SR and some other who want join in can (support group) my first day with this med is 5-14. fingers crossed.
I'm right there with ya. I've been wanting to quit for a while too, just to big of a sissy to actually do it. Let me know how the medication works. I just need something to get me over the hump too. I've learned it's all up to you and how bad you want it, or to quit in this situation. I truly wish you the best of luck! If you need some words of encouragement, I'll do my best and hopefully get on the wagon with ya!
the dr wanted to put me on chanx again....uh no way in hell the last time i tried it i was in the hospital because of the side affects . (8 years ago) so with med it have less side affects. if i can quiet i'll have more money!!! that the 2 goals i have right now.
Good luck to both of you guys. It's a tough thing to beat but you can do it. In the end you'll be much better off in so many ways. Blessings. .........Pastorjim Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
I used patches to quit a couple of years ago. I found target has the best price 14 patches for $26. Then for step 3 I just cut the step 2 in half. Best of luck every one trying to quit. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
Good!!! I smoked and dipped up until my stroke last year then quit both cold turkey. You can do it!!! Change your habits and stay busy for the first few weeks, try something new, a new side hobby. And reward yourself for hitting milestones, such as the month mark. You got this!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I smoked for 31 yrs. Got bronchitis worse than I've ever had it a cpl months ago. Couldn't smoke, couldn't eat, could barely breathe. That was it for me. I feel much better already. Good luck guys! It's definitely worth it in the long run Sent from my SM-G920V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Congrats and good luck. I'm thankful I never picked up the habit, but I've had several friends try and break the habit. Some more successful than others. Sent from my LG-H820 using Tapatalk
Good for you, good luck! My dad finally quit with patches after smoking for 60+ years. Well that and my mom refused to buy any more ciggs for him after his surgeon told him what was what. That sh*t is bad mojo, help care for someone on O2 for a while and I can't believe anyone would not have the wherewithall to stop smoking.
thanks, guys i'm still allow to smoke for the 1 week (while the med get into the blood stream) but i'm trying to cut it down each day.
I tried using Chantix once too and that stuff made me feel all crazy! My heart was racing and I couldn't sit still. When I stopped taking it, I felt like my body was on vacation. I won't use that stuff again either. I tried the patches too but after about 2 weeks, my skin started getting reactions to the patch no matter where I put it. I was successful once for about 9 months using some med but messed it up. One cigarette was all it took. I wish you the best of luck and will look into the med you are going to use.
I quit smoking on opening day of archery season in 2006. One of the toughest but best decisions of my life.
Good for you horrible for your health plus that's all us hunters need to worry about is putting out another foreign odor. I know there are plenty of smokers who kill plenty of deer but I still say the more you smell like nothing the better Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
