When your "friends" cannot explain why they voted for Democrats, give them this list. They can pick their reasons from this "TOP 12" List... 1. I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't. 2. I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would. 3. I voted Democrat because Freedom of Speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it. 4. I voted Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves. 5. I voted Democrat because I believe people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius. 6. I voted Democrat because I'm not concerned about millions of babies being aborted so long as we keep all death row inmates alive. 7. I voted Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits. 8. I voted Democrat because I believe business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrats see fit. 9. I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters. 10. I voted Democrat because I think it's better to pay billions to people who hate us for their oil, but not drill our own because it might upset some endangered beetle or Gopher. 11. I voted Democrat because while we live in the greatest, most wonderful country in the world, I was promised "HOPE AND CHANGE". 12. I voted Democrat because my head is so firmly planted up my ***, it's unlikely I'll ever have another point of view.
If people would stop just voting for whoever has a D or R beside their name, this country might actually make some progress forward.
X3 I will be changing my Party Affiliation this year from R to none, as in I don't believe a Rep or Dem really gives a crap about me or the american people. All they care about is lining their own pockets and helping their friends.
I've never been with a party...and have voted for the individual and if they represent my interest. BUt humor is still humor. SB
C'Mon Hook, you know it's not about electing competent individuals to govern the country, it's all about your "team" winning. How many people voted for bush twice? You would have to be a complete imbecile to have voted for him the second time but............
Really, John Kerry would have been an upgrade over Bush? I remember when people said no one could be worse than Bush. Well Obama certainly proved that theory wrong. Bush was far from great but he was a significantly better choice than Kerry.
Just because that is your opinion does not make it true. You are actually in the minority with that thinking according to numerous national polls. BTW, I am neither Republican or Dem....I'm Independant
Really I must have missed the polls. I guess I am not that well read. I missed where our economy is up and humming. I missed where most Dems were re elected in the last election. We will see who is in the Whitehouse in a year. That really is the only poll that matters.
That's because the working people and mentally sane are fast becoming the minority. There are too many that feel like they deserve and are owed a free ride even when they have never been a positive contributor to the United States tax system. These people and the others that are out of touch with reality are the reason why we are in the shape that we are in today.
all these Ds and Rs have to deal with policies already put into place before they were elected...sometimes years before...sometimes contradicting each other as say mining vs drilling for example(they both take raw product out of the ground and through pollution producing refining become consumable product - again with pollution present at consumption but are regulated seperately and differently basically because of a grandfather clause for mining)...It's just wag the dog and don't step in the poop. Bureaucracies resist change so if we don't get rid of them all - not just the 'figure'head and 1/2 the guts every couple/few years - we aren't really going to see any changes, especially in our lifetimes. *Even if we do somehow get some major changes - maybe for our(personal) betterment...half the other people out there are going to be peed off just because we got our way.
I've stopped paying attention to all politcal polls....cannot tell me the audience is random or includes locations all around the nation (sure...pick a liberal city to pull votes from and call it a poll).
