i've been asked this a bunch of times here and other places. i also answerd this in my "land of the Free...Home of the Brave" thread.

i don't have a special lazer set up or any fancy computer programs or anything like that. not sure what is exactly out there because i have no desire to use anything other than my hands and the talent God gave me.
i do all my art work "freehand" as many like to say it. i do draw everything in pencil. sometimes i then will transfer it onto wood or whatever by tracing on the back of the paper with pencil, then tape it to the wood, and then scratch all over the front of the paper again with the pencil, leaving the image on the wood.
i then re-draw the image better on the wood and then it's time to burn. other times i just draw right onto the wood from the start and then burn.
the burning is also done by hand.
i'm also including a photo of my "workspace" , which is actually my living room. if you look close you can see something i'm burning with the pen and cord laying on/next to the wood.

i have no intrest in dealing with lazer crap or whatever. it would be nice to make copies of original works and then be able to sell them cheeper, but i have no idea whata it would cost or how to go about doing any of that. i enjoy making burns this way and will continue to do so til i get sick of it or whatever.
thanks for everyones nice comments and putting up with my artsy fartsy pics i post up here. i know many aren't into the stuff i do, but i figure by now many know that my threads may just be about my artwork in the watercooler section, so they can choose not to look if they want.
    thanks again everyone....Jay

    Thanks for taking the time...

What do you use to actually burn the wood with? Sorry I'm so ignorant as to what's available out there these days...

Only reason I ask is when I was little I took my dad's soldering iron and did some very rudimentary stuff, but nothing like this... :D

Never mind... I see you already answered that in the other thread.

Need to go back and read it thoroughly in a sec...

    Thanks again!

Your mount fell off the wall... If you were looking for it, it's on the couch. :)

I think he's talking about your dog! How much do you charge for such work? Are you willing to take on other business or are you just burning for friends and family? Thanks

You are a truly talented artist.

I am always fascinated by non traditional art forms. I was a tattoo artist for several years and have always enjoyed seeing others natural talent. It is great that you do this they way you do. Thanks for sharing
