I have always washed my hunting clothes in baking soda, and used baking soda in my plastic containers that I store my clothes in. I have heard that vinegar is a great deodorizer, and when mixed with baking soda, is a very effective cleansing mixture. Has anyone tried or does anyone use baking soda and vinegar to wash their hunting clothes? Just seems crazy that something as pungent as vinegar would be a scent eliminator??

I know tha tbaking soda with vinegar will explode if in a closed container. Vinegar when aired out should become scentless, I think.

Vinegar is kind of a harsh mixture. My great grandma used to pour vinegar on our cuts when we were kids, burned like you wouldn't believe. Aside from smell, I don't think I'd wash my clothes in it.

you ever mix vinegar and baking soda? it's causes a chemical reaction that releases the CO2... pretty neat. I used to use vinegar to get the funky pit smell out of my poker dealer uniform... F polyester... F it all day. My routine when I get out of the tree is to strip off my outer camo take it down to the lake swish it around in the water then hang it on the line at the house... perfect cover scent here early season ... everything smells like algae lol.

Yea, I think every kid has made a vinegar/baking soda "volcano" at some point in their life. If not, I guess it's never too late to try... I also discovered some neat facts while looking this up. If you put baking soda on a cookie sheet and spread it out, bake it for 30 minutes at 400 deg, you just made sodium carbonate, or "washing soda." I guess it is supposed to enhance it's cleaning abilities, and it's also used as a water softener.

Just buy a DDW kit on Amazon. You get laundry detergent, toothpaste, deodorant, spray, shampoo/body wash, refill packs. Worth it.

I've used a half cup of vinegar when my towels get that funk. and used baking soda detergent, but I don't think you use both together.
