So I decided to give the probowl a shot tonight. Could not even make it through the first quarter. Are these guys even trying? Fans booed them for lack of effort. Just cancel this farse of a football game already. Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
Of course they're not trying...It's actually pretty entertaining watching the "pass protection." Besides...you should have been watching Frisby front flip a snowmobile...you're from Wisconsin after all.
So why even play the stupid thing? I know they don't want anyone to get hurt but this is ridiculous. Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
It's become so bad it's almost turned into something you want to watch as a comedy. I think they should do some sort of skills competition or do something different with the game to make it 100% fun and not pretend to be football at all. Maybe have offense play defense and defense play offense. Or they could just have the players and families still go down for the weekend and honor them at a dinner or something and screw the game all together.
That game means nothing to those guys. They absolutely do not want to get hurt or hurt anyone else. Many of them are in contract negotiations and the last thing they need to tell their respective team is that they are injured.
The whole point of the pro-bowl is to create a "big event" for the NFL to make more money. This used to be a great thing and people would gather at other's houses to watch it. This is not the case anymore. My solution would be instead of having an actual game that is super boring to watch and very "iffy" for advertisers to throw their money at, have a fan-voted award show. The players would be dressed casually as to connect more with the fans, no suit and tie needed. IMO, an award show would be a lot more entertaining than watching a bunch of guys trying not to get hurt.
Can we really blame them for not trying? If I were selected to the pro-bowl and, let's face it, that's a legitimate possibility, I would be more concerned with putting on a show and being entertaining than actually playing hard.
No Thats why they shouldn't have a game. Everyone knows that nobody is going to try a bit and that's understandable due to injury. So take it totally out of the equation and don't make everyone suffer attempting to watch/play it.
Then a lot of people are going to be out of a lot money. Players may or may not feel obligated to play in it, that would be up to the individual. Going to Hawaii for a week to hang out with other players and play a glorified 7 on 7 game might appeal to some guys, but if fans don't like it or it bothers them to watch it, they can always change the channel.
Rodgers was ticked that there was no effort on the NFC side. This Rodgers guy Is alright In my book. I think It was him who also said that If your playing at half throttle chances of an Injury are more likely to happen with trying to be careful (too careful). I kinda agree with him too.
