TeeJay....with the reports of how your last month has gone, and as cold as it is....I can't blame you a bit. I doubt I'd be jacked about going either.

We got 20+" snow yesterday...and can't hunt on Sundays. That's ok...I'll give em a couple days to get used to the shock of this kind of snow (and make some trails) and then hit it some this week. Its been a good while since we've had a snow like this one. :D

If nothing else, I'll get some good scouting in. Good luck to those still hunting....we still have a couple weeks left here.

We are snowed in bigtime. I just shoveled about 20,000 punds of snow myself and did not even put a dent in my driveway/car port. It will be advil and ice packs for me tonight.

It is getting tuffer to make it out there, but I saw good movement and a shooter buck last night, so might have to get out again this evening.

In my opinion, late season morning hunts are a waste of time anyway. Concentrating on evening hunts and keeping the pressure down in the AM has improved my late season sightings a ton. In general, I love to hunt mornings, but certain times of the year, it is just unproductive for me.

Yep shadow, we got about 18" here in SE Pa. You might have gotten more? I was going to check my cam but the snow was waaay over my boots. I'll have to re-group with some duct tape latter. I HAVE to get in there today to find where the fresh activity is. I don't get too many chances like this. I'll be in there hunting tomorrow.

I see good moment in mornings but with the deer wandering all over... there is a great chance of busting them when you walk in. There is so many doe in this area it would be a disaster. Doesn't help it is all ground hunting here. I scrapped my morning hunt because the wind wasn't the greatest to hunt this spot. I am afraid of doing more damage then good especially with the buck I seen last night. What I wouldn't give for straight N winds for the remainder of season. Then I could hunt both mornings and evenings.

Wind is wrong for tonight so it looks like I am going shopping with the wife. TeeJay you are off the hook. :)

The movement I see in the late season mornings has always consisted of does and young bucks. The few run ins with mature bucks I have had in late season has always been in the last half hour of daylight. The properties I hunt are small and its hard to get in undetected in the mornings. My late season evening sits have become far more productive by staying out in the mornings. Good luck with that slob of a buck whatever time of day you hunt him. I wanna see some snowy harvest pics.

That is pretty much spot on for here also. I have seen a few mature bucks in the morning during late season but right at first light. I have to hunt right off their bedding area to do it. I hunt fairly large areas so if a get a good wind to access where deer movement is miminal getting to my spots... I will hunt in the morning. You have to really know the area and how the deer use it so not to blunder and wreck a spot. You also have to have a good exit route when the morning hunt is over.

To play it safe... you are better waiting for a pm hunt no doubt.
