The bow was discussed in the conversation with Dan Rob ;)

That was the reason I thought he just shot the buck, and that it was not just a skin so soft thread :p

You shoulda felt the pain when I had a wire bristle go into one of those cracks in my thumb today while brushing the rust off one of my traps this morning so I could dye it.... Wow!

I know now how to get spys to talk in interrogation sessions....

He's a home-grown boy, Matt... afforded me the awesome opportunity to have a couple of my best friends help me recover him since I was right down the road. Three generations in this pic...

I thought you'd had entirely too much spiked eggnog with that first post.. ;)

    Congrats!

When I processed zillions of dead pheasants/turkeys/chukar (think constant cold/hot water and impaling from broken bones) and ran traps (sans gloves) I used bag balm and vitamin E on my hands and I rarely got cracks.

Great pic of the generations Greg and a great buck. Much deserved rest my friend. My season is just getting heated up in KY now the guns are going to rest. Take care.

Congrats on a nice buck Greg. My grind is still ongoing. I have another month to try and put a buck down and my hands are starting to dry out and crack just like every year. Like Christine, I use Bag Balm. When the cracks get particularly deep and painful I'll coat my hands with the stuff and put rubber gloves on over night. It can be messy but they heal quickly. If I'd just remember to use the stuff earlier I wouldn't get the dang cracks.

Thanks, buddy. I've just put a lot off this season and trapping's calling my name again... ready to move on and regenerate a bit.

Greg, nice deer but I love the picture. I had been looking forward to doing the same with my daughter and got the chance on Sunday. First time she was along for field dressing and she was asking lots of questions and I was showing internal body parts and such.
Again, beautiful 3 generation picture. I can see how much it meant to you by the smile on your face :) .Might be worth framing and hanging under that deer's antlers.

He he, Bruce... Have I ever told you that you and I think a lot alike -- on a LOT of things? ;)

Already have a framed 8x10 leaned up against the wall under where it's going to hang... just waiting to get the mount back from the taxidermist now so I can place it all correctly on the wall I've got picked out for him. :D

I've got another pic where my Dad and I have switched places and he's hugging his grandson and I've got my arm around his shoulder... that's going to be one of Dad's Christmas presents.
